On Monday we started our Halloween week by doing our Q-tip skeleton arms. The students came over and I painted their hand white then I created their arm with the white paint. Then the students had to go over the paint with a line of liquid glue and line their arm with Q-tips to show the "bones". In music we were able to audition for the solos for the music program. Also today we got to cash in our DOJO points from last week for our prizes. A lot of our friends decided to choose either the treasure chest or to eat lunch with an older friend or Mr. B in his office! AWESOME! They are loving this DOJO program and I am as well! :)
| On Tuesday we created our H is for Horse projects. We are really getting good at following directions and cutting things nicely. At the beginning of the year we were having a hard time with doing our work slowly and nicely. We have gotten a lot better. :) As we did a really quick lesson on how to wash our hands properly - how much soap and to get all of the germs off --> instead of not washing your hands or just washing with water. So we talked about how you want one pump/a nickel size of soap and then to scrub all over tops and bottoms of hands. To show them the "germs" that we have on our hands we had a discussion and then took it to the bathroom. I brought glitter into the bathroom and put it all over wet hands of all the students. It was their goal to get all the glitter/"germs" off by washing their hands with soap and water. This helped them have the visual as well as having some fun with glitter. |
On Wednesday we started our centers - talked about below. The kids are doing well in them so far and are working hard to learn our schedule. We are working on letters, sentence writing, sight words, finger spacing, etc. They are trying their best and that is all that I ask. :) Through centers we play games, write on whiteboards, etc. Thank you as well to the older friends in 2nd grade for helping some of our 4K friends outside keep on task and making sure they are safely inside! You girls rock! :)
| On Thursday. we got our feet a little messy, well one of our feet. We made some ghosts with our feet. We also had to make a "scary" Halloween scene with a tree and a moon for our happy ghosts to be on. They did a great job listening and working while we were doing feet! Our friend Johnny found a "baby" slug at recess and gave it a nice/safe home on the pumpkin by the door. |
(Ash's mom) came in to see us for our movie as a witch and we loved having her here to help and see our classroom and see all of us. Thank you Nancy for coming! :) The movie we got to watch was Monster's University and by the giggles you can tell the Frozen openning that they are loving this treat! Mr. B picked our last Cold Stone chip winners for Monday and from our class Eli was chosen! YAY way to go Eli! :) Congratulations to all friends in 4K that got cow chips. We had a great and fun filled scary day! This morning we made some Halloween pictures and handed out our snacks/Halloween treats - they are in a gallon plastic bag in your child's backpack. :) Thank you to all that sent a treat to share :).
