This week we worked on the letter Dd and we talked about an author named Lois Ehlert! She is an amazing children's book author that uses the environment around us to create her books. She uses leaves to create people, etc. Her books are great for anyone to reignite their imagination. Working on our D's we talked about how the lowercase b and d are very similar. So when thinking about writing a lowercase b or d we need to remember this: b's go walking (facing away from each other) while the d's are talking (facing each other)
| Tuesday we had a crazy day! During recess we got to play with our 3K friends and it was great to see how much they are growing so far! :) We love 3K! :) |
On Wednesday we were again working hard on our D's. We are working hard on pulling down and then curving around. Some of the kids are loving when we get to go to the blacktop and play with chalk. They love writing their names and practicing their letters. But their favorite thing is to make HUGE, and I mean HUGE hopscotches! Today we also started to talk about how our centers will start to work. We will have a reading/writing center, math center and a tablet center. As well a group will be coming back to the table with me and working on things that they need help on or can grow on. More information to come. Today we went to mass for the first time as a class and we did an AMAZING job! They all listened, were quiet and respectful!! Way to rock it 4K! :)
| On Thursday we talked about Feathers for lunch (a Lois Ehlert book). We looked at different types of birds and talked about the colors of those birds. They found the blocks finally and built their first tower of the year! Woo! Also as you can tell in some of our photos when we stand in the hallway we are standing for a period of time where we can start getting "ants in our pants" that make us wiggle. So Mrs. Johnson and I do arm, and leg stretches with the kiddos. Crossing our arms to stretch them while counting to 10 we bend our knees every time we count. :) |
