| On Monday we worked on our Mrs. Wishy Washy books. We started talking about farms and what we can see when we go to the farm or any farm. We read the book Mrs. Wishy Washy and then we created our own. Each animal needed to be washed in the tub because they ran off becoming more and more dirty. We also had our safe touches talk to day and the kiddos did a great job listening and participating. Today we also started working talking about the letter Ee and how we form our Ee's when writing them. |
On Tuesday we made our Elephants. E is for Elephant and we worked really hard on them! The kids are getting better and better at cutting out different shaped pieces and I am so proud of their progress. Today we started work on our chicken life cycle's that we put up in the hallway. We talked about the chicken's life cycle - starts off as an egg, then hatches out of the egg, becomes a chick and then becomes a chicken or a rooster. We worked more and more on our writing of our E's. For the uppercase E we pull down, come back up and slide, slide, slide. With the lowercase e, we slide and then curve around but do not finish. | |
| On Wednesday, we finished up our chicken lifecycles. As well we added our E's to our writing notebooks. We practice writing our uppercase and lowercase E's in our notebooks. We have to do four of each and then we draw and color a picture of something that starts with that letter. So this week the students drew a picture of an egg, elephant, etc. |
Thursday we talked about the farm, what animals we could see and about our field trip. We talked about what the proper behavior would be for our field trip and what we would be doing the next day. As well we practiced our prayers! We have been working hard on our lunch prayer, hail mary and our father. In the morning we have really improved at standing up and praying/doing the pledge of allegiance with the rest of the school. (this is helping us practice our prayers as well)
On Friday we had our field trip to the farm and apple orchard. First we went to the farm and the kids had the best time! It was a bit chilly and very windy but was still awesome! Before we left that morning I took the chaperones, Mrs. Johnson and myself and put our names on the board. Then I separated the kids into somewhat equal groups so that we could all enjoy the farm and the apple orchard! :) This worked out great! When checking to see if we had everyone we had the kids go find their "person" and then we knew everyone was there. At lunch we were having a good time trying to keep our lunches from flying away due to the wind. The goats and the cows were highlights for the kids. Then we got on the bus and a couple of our friends fell right to sleep! We got to the apple orchard and had a tour from Mrs. Jadin and then got to eat and pick some apples! As well they each got a pumpkin! Awesome! Thank you Hillside Apple Orchard and The Farm for having us! As well thank you to all chaperones and staff! :)
