Like I have said before and I will continue to say I am so proud of all of my students and I am so blessed and honored to call myself their teacher! We are almost done with their testing and it is so funny how excited they get about their testing and wanting to show off what they have learned and how much they have grown!
Their coloring has come leaps and bounds - from scribbling to staying in the lines and being detailed, using at least FIVE colors! :)
The picture of Ava and Landon in line was really funny and so heart warming to know that what I am teaching them is really sticking: they came up with their own game while waiting in line. One of them would close their eyes and the other would sound out a word or name sound by sound (doing the motion with the letter sound - even though the other person couldn't see, but it really helps them remember). Doing this they would have to guess the letter and then the word! So cool to see this!
The picture of our whole class standing in a circle is a new thing that we are working on in the morning during calendar when we are counting! We do the motions of the Macarena and count!! Dylan hard at work on his number packet! We are working really hard on our number FORMATION, that is key! So our number packets during centers this week and going into next week are getting a lot of use: They highlight the number (we call yellow markers "highlighters"), they color that number of pictures, they use their ten frame and color the correct number of boxes in, then they color in the correct number of tally marks, write the number three times and then finally they trace the number at the bottom! |
Tablets! One of the favorite things to do during our center time! They absolutely love their abcmouse.com accounts and working with the technology - sometimes so much that when the timer goes off it is hard to get their attention! Engaging in our world of technology really will help them because this is our world! |
