Monday we made some hand cut out eagles! Thank you Mrs. Johnson and Mr. Johnson for cutting these things out this last weekend we really appreciate it! We talked about how to put the eagle together, what the different pieces were and what to start with, etc. They did a great job listening to the directions! As well, when they were all done they had to write USA on their paper! GREAT JOB! Really brought some patriotism to our room! As well we went through my books during nap today and I am getting rid of some. I decided to allow the kids to pick one book now to take home and then they will get to pick one more the 6/7/17 during our celebration!
| Tuesday we made some patriotic stained glass stars for our windows! Thank you so much again to Mrs. Johnson for helping us glue and cut these out! You are such a blessing to all of us here at SMS and in 4K! We love you! The stars turned out really nicely. |
On this rainy Wednesday we had gym, had some play time outside after the rain subsided and made some drawings during our playtime. I usually draw cows and farm animals but recently learned how to draw a really cute frog and elephant. Needless to say every kiddo wanted one. They are so cute watching and drawing along with me to learn how to draw the animal.
| Thursday we created fireworks with paint and forks. The students took forks, dipped them in the paint and had to attempt to make fireworks on their papers. They did this by sliding the back of the fork on the paper in a pattern. As well we got to play outside with our 3K friends and play with their "toy diggers". Awesome idea Mrs. Sinkula. There is a mama bird with her babies on the light above our back door and it is so cute to see the kids check on them every time we go outside. |
Friday we created american flags with red, white and blue tissue paper. The kids had to put blue and white in the square at the top left for the "stars" and create some type of red and white pattern for the "stripes". They made their tallest tower ever this morning and man they were mad when I tried knocking it over to see if they could do it again! They all love that they get to color in their letter work notebooks now and do whatever they want in them. We made a "lava lamp" as well at our third recess. We took oil, food coloring, water and alka seltzer tabs and dropped them in. The reaction of all of these things working together create the look of a homemade "lava lamp".
