Well folks, the tear waterfall has officially hit!!! I already miss my kids! They have become apart of me and really have left their imprints ok my heart!! First year as a teacher is in the books! Reminiscing on the year from my first week when I was nervous & wasn't sure how I'd make it through the year or how I would ever get ahead with the lesson plans, behavior control, ect! I made it through thanks to great support from staff, students, & families!!! This year has taught me so much!! Here's to many more!!! #4k #graduation #lastdayofschool This week in 4K we had a lot of fun just reminiscing and laughing together. We had a couple game days where we learned a couple new games and got to play them with our friends. We also were blessed enough to celebrate our summer birthday friends, including our very own Mrs. Johnson! Thank you so much for sending your birthday treats and allowing us to celebrate with them! :) We have officially graduated the 4K, 5K and 6th grade classes from St. Mary's! I am so proud, but there were a lot of tears from me and the kids this week! I cannot believe how fast this year has gone and how much these wonderful children have grown! I am so proud to call myself their teacher and thankful that the Lord chose me to teach them. They have truly blessed my life! Congratulations to 4K, 5K and 6th grade friends! Have a great summer! :) **Your DVD's will be either delivered some time on Friday (June 10th) or Monday (June 13th) Wednesday June 8th - 4K/5K Graduation (Schedule breakdown)

What is Memorial Day? This is a common asked question by my 4K kiddos but also by a lot of people. It is customary to mark Memorial Day by visiting graveyards and war monuments. "One of the biggest Memorial Day traditions is for the President or Vice President to give a speech and lay a wreath on soldiers' graves in the largest national cemetery, Arlington National Cemetery, in Virginia. Most towns have local Memorial Day celebrations. Here are some ways you can honor the men and women who serve our country - - Put flags or flowers on the graves of men and women who served in wars. - Fly the U.S. flag at half-staff until noon. - Visit monuments dedicated to soldiers, sailors and marines. - Participate in a National Moment of Remembrance at 3 p.m. local time. - March in a parade." (http://www.timeforkids.com/news/meaning-memorial-day/40391) My kiddos know that they go to parades and some knew the reasoning behind this but, it was important they knew why and for whom we celebrate this holiday for, it is not just another day off. It means so much more, these men and women give up so much for us to be free and have all that we have as a country. We need to not only thank them on Memorial Day, but every time we see or meet a military man or woman. (This touches their heart so much more than you would ever know) This week we had a busy week so we made some projects for Memorial Day that incorporate the American Flag and our national colors (red, white and blue). We created fireworks using forks to create the illusion of fireworks on our papers. Then we also created some Eagles - which we know (after our discussion) is our national bird and is protected. We created these with red, white and blue stars with a USA in the corner! They did a great job! :) As well we got to hear from one of my friends Mr. Matt Lashua who is in the United States Marines. His wife saw what we were doing and told him about it. He was so proud of happy with our projects and conversations he had to send a video to say thank you to 4K! :)
Can't wait for you to see the whole movie! :)
