The Legend of JellyBean and the Unbreakable Egg is a great book! This from the outside would look like just another Easter book, but this book has a deeper meaning behind it. There are six chicks that hatch - but only five hatch at first. The farmer comes and gets the eggs that have not hatched that day to dye for Easter. The five chicks run into the kitchen to save the sixth chick that didn't hatch yet. Doing so they each fall into a different color of Easter egg dye. They try hitting the egg, pushing it off the table, pecking at it, but NOTHING will work! Then they finally try snuggling with it and keeping it warm. When they wake up in the morning the egg has hatched. Throughout the night their dye seeps onto the shell and you will have to find out why the book is called JellyBean. ;) The moral of this story is instead of hitting, yelling or pushing people/friends we should love on them instead. Throw kindness like confetti and everyone will catch some or at least be covered in it (affected in some way by kindness). |
