Another successful DOJO week last week and a fun DOJO prize Monday! Monday we cut open a pumpkin to see what was inside and we took guesses of how many seeds were in our pumpkin! :) We had some really big and some average sized guesses! Our final see count was: 165. We learned about our letter of the week letter Gg and how to form it properly. Practicing on white boards the uppercase and lowercase. We also learned our first sight word "and". Every week we will learn one to two new sight words. At the end of each week they will be put into our sight word bags in our folders!
| On Tuesday we really focused in on our Gg formations. We reviewed the sounds of all of our letters with our motions and our songs. Also we had mass today for the second time this year! We were a big wiggly and giggly during mass so we have to review again how we sit nicely in mass. Overall they did a great job for being 4 and 5 year olds! :) Mr. B came out to play with us at our morning recess and the 3K and 4K friends decided to chase him! Hillarious to watch this mob of kids chasing after him. |
On Wednesday we finally got to do our G is for Giraffe project! Since last Wednesday when we did our F is for Fox project they have been asking about G! :) The cutting skills and listening skills in 4K are really soaring, wow! Awesome job friends, your Giraffes look great! We are working on following directions completely and not adding things to our projects when we don't need them. We are all about detail in this group, they want to add that extra pizzaz or detail to their projects, etc.
| On Thursday we did some pumpkin painting with our pumpkin spice paint! :) Yum it smells so good! We read the book Sixteen Runaway Pumpkins and that was our inspiration for our "abstract" pumpkin spice paintings! As well all week this week we have been welcoming our families and friends in for National Hot Lunch week here at school! Thank you to our all of our friends and family for coming and making this week a special week for all of us. We appreciate your support of the hot lunch program and our school as a whole. |
