This week we learned a lot about different creatures that live in the sea! We learned about the octopus, the jelly fish, the crab and the SHARK! The kids were very interested in the animals and were shocked that there were so many different kinds of each species. The one that they seemed the most interested in was the shark! They were very interested to learn more about them and before we started talking about them a good handful and maybe even all of them were slightly afraid of sharks. Now they know not to be afraid of sharks, but still they are not like gold fish we have at home, we still have to be cautious. We talked about them and they learned some really interesting facts about them! They should be able to tell you the answers to these questions:
How long was the biggest shark (as long as what)? (a school bus)
What is their top fin called? (dorsal fin)
What is the fish called that swims underneath the shark? (pilot fish)
Do bigger sharks or smaller sharks attack more? (smaller sharks)
It has been a great week full of sea creatures and a lot of learning! We also learned about the letter Jj! We made our jaguars and learned a lot in our centers! We are getting really good at our centers and the kids know where they go every rotation now without the chart. I am very proud of all of the kids in our class this year and all of the progress they have made so far! They really are growing!! :) As of right now they know 10 going on 11 sight words! :)
