This week we talked about and read a lot of Laura Numeroff's books! Our first book that we read was If you Give a Cat a Cupcake. To accompany this book we colored and created our own cupcakes. Then we traced a couple sentence's that would match our cupcake. We learned through this book and this week that the writing needs to match the picture. As well we are working on learning addition so we put an equation into our paragraph and solved it.
The next book we read was If you Give a Dog a Donut. Before reading this book I had the students start thinking about what they would see in the book. Then while we were reading the book the students' had to be thinking about what their favorite parts of the book was. Before they created their own recreations of their favorite parts, I showed them an example - using lots of detail.
We have been working really hard this week on the letter Tt, addition and continuing to work on the formation of our letters and numbers. This week it's going to be a short blog post, but we need to put a shout out to Kathy in the parish office, who we made valentine's decorations for! We really hope you enjoy them! :)
