Monday we talked about the book The Mitten! The little boy in the story lost his mittens because they were the color of snow, white! We decided to help him out and make some of our own mittens that would not get lost in th snow. They did a great job coloring and designing their mittens! Their job was not only to design colorful mittens but also mittens that looked the same (or close to it). One could not be green and the other yellow, they had to both have green and yellow on them. As well we made our L is for Ladybug's and WOW did they do a beautiful job!
| Tuesday we read the book Gingerbread Baby! Then they had to each decorate their own gingerbread baby to put on our new door! :) Jan Brett was so creative with this book, so it was a great inspiration to the kids to design their own with tissue sqaures, puff balls and puffy letter stickers. |
Wednesday we had our first "winter gym" at the community center gym! The kiddos did a great job on the bus ride there and back, as well as listening to directions/participating. They had the best time doing silly sqauts, back passes, etc. As well we had centers today and they love, love, love centers! We tried somthing new where the bean bags and Chub Chub thecow are spread around the room. For tablet time they are able to pick a spot and do their tablet center there.
| Thursday we got new name tags and the kids were thrilled becasue then they got to do their favorite thing of ripping off all of the old ones! :) We read the book The Hat and tried to determine what animal was coming next and what they were going to possibly wear as a "hat". |
Friday we had a day of centers and talking about sequencing. Our last Jan Brett book was The Three Snow Bears. We talked about what happened in what order and matching up the proper chair and bed to the correct owner. (Papa Bear, Mama Bear, and Baby Bear) Great job at centers 4K friends you are getting really good at focusing on your tasks! :)
