2 Corinthians 9: 11-15
11 You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. 12 This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. 13 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. 14 And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. 15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift.
Thankful does not even begin to cover the feelings I have when I think about my 4K class this year and all of the parents, as well as other staff and students at St. Mary's School. I am so thankful and blessed that I was able to be the 4K teacher this year and that I am able to wake up each and everyday to come to teach this great group of 16 4K friends! I am blessed beyond measure and I sometimes have to remind myself of this. When I come to school each day with those 16 smiling faces looking at me I know that I at least have 16 good reasons to be thankful! Here is what some of our 4K friends said they are thankful for:
I am thankful for...
4K (2015-2016)
Ava: I am thankful for mom.
Rylee: I am thankful for food.
Ellie: I am thankful for my family.
Dylan: I am thankful for mom and dad.
Zachary: I am thankful for my brothers and sisters.
Brady: I am thankful for Molly.
Addi: I am thankful for my kitty.
Jayden: I am thankful for my mom and grandma.
Korbin: I am thankful for grandpa and grandma.
Gabby: I am thankful for my tablet.
Landon: I am thankful for the boys truck that mom gave me.
Luke: I am thankful for Ms. Luce.
Lauren: I am thankful for Porter (my puppy).
Molly: I am thankful for that we are at the letter Ll, because it's my favorite letter.
Laney: I am thankful for patchy and blankey.
Karsyn: I am thankful for my grandma and grandpa.
Here is some of what we did this week... We created a little Thanksgiving gift for our families! I was asked why are we making them gifts for Thanksgiving? I said because who takes care of you, who nurtures you, etc. I got an array of answers from: mom, dad, God and Jesus. These are all true but not all the time do we stop to say thank you; so a little token of our appreciation and love will show them that we appreciate what they do for us everyday. So we created turkey hands put onto burlap and puffy painted the year and their name on it. Below there is a picture of your student holding up a sign that says THANK YOU!!! We appreciate all that you do (Jesus, God, parents, families, community and parish members, etc.) As well we created a "what we are thankful for pumpkin" that the kids were able to cut out and color. In the pumpkin pocket there are pictures of different things that we are thankful for. As well we learned about the letter Ll, its formation, etc. and reviewed the sound of this letter this week! As well we made our lady bugs but those are being put in their files for when they are sent home with their other letters :).
I hope everyone has a happy, healthy, safe and thankful Thanksgiving!! :)
