Monday we read Bartholomew and the Oobleck and so we made some very slimey slime. Today we read books under the "sun". We went to the cafeteria and got to read books wearing our sunglasses and beach towels. Great listeners my friends are! They all picked four books and then picked their own place to sit and read next to friends!
| Tuesday we had a mismatched silly dressing day! We had some pretty silly outfits going on. As you can see in the picture that we have of Eli and our older friend Haley they all really went all out! Great job showing school pride and pride for Reading across America week!! Throughout the week we had surprise reading time for 15 minutes each day so the kiddos thought it was awesome that they got to read a lot this week! We had a door decorating contest and the winner was 3rd grade! Great job! :) |
Wednesday we had gym class in our pajamas, how awesome is that!? Pretty awesome! Then we also had time during library when we teamed up with 3rd grade and did reading buddies. Each student or students were paired up ahead of time with a 3rd grade student. They LOVED it!! We will be implementing reading buddies next year as a monthly thing for the 4K kids to continue celebrate and fall in love with reading! We got to play with the slime one last time before Ms. Luce had to throw it away for the week! :)
| Thursday we had our experiment day! We made Cat in the Hat "Magic play dough". We mixed flour and baby oil with glitter to create a crumbly looking concoction! Each table had their own bowl and we had to practice our skill of sharing and making sure everyone got a chance to stir. We made hypotheses to what we thought was magic about the playdough and what we thought would happen when we put these ingredients together. Some said because of the glitter, it will make us fly in the air, make us change color, etc. SO CREATIVE! :) At the end of the day each student was able to bring home a baggie of the magic play dough that we made as a class. |
