5 or more colors rule! :) On Monday we talked about the 5 or more crayon "rule of thumb". What this means is when we are doing a project, or we are coloring something for our mom's and dad's; to make it more interesting and full of life/color, we should use 5 or more colors. I have noticed if I don't implement this early on that I get papers or projects that have one solid color or maybe two very similar colors. This "rule of thumb" gets them away from this tendency right from the beginning and the quickly realize they become more creative than before adding colors throughout. (A good book to reference for this is The Day the Crayons Quit. We have this book as well as the sequel in our classroom library if you would like to borrow! :)
As you can see in some of the pictures, some did not want to stop at the white boards they decided to write their names in chalk! You go friends! As well they added their own hopscotch to Mrs. Johnson's and made it the length of the parking lot! How awesome!
Happy weekend all, see you next week!
